Toni was born March 13, 1952, in Bakersfield, California, to Lee and Arlo Mae Sack. She passed away November 11, 2022, Veteran’s Day, with her family at her side. We thought it an appropriate day, since she was a veteran of the Navy. Toni is survived by her daughter, Kimberly, (fiancé Derek), and siblings: Silver, Leslie, and Kathleen. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Violet Cook; parents, Lee and Arlo Mae Sack; and her brother, Michael. Toni’s final resting place is the Bakersfield National Cemetery.

Toni grew up independent and was a great help to her mother. Some of her first jobs were babysitting and waitressing. While in her early teens, she learned to sew and made most of her sister Kathie’s clothes. Upon graduating high school, she worked for the Singer Company as a bookkeeper, and many of her sewing skills were on display in the store. Over time, those skills expanded, and she made many beautiful clothes and costumes for her daughter, Kim. Possessing many talents, Toni learned from her mom how to crochet and embroidery. Toni, being left-handed, would sit across from her mom (a right-hander) and watch as she showed her needlepoint stitches or how to crochet. Toni created many treasures throughout her life. Most were gifted to family and friends. Cooking was also a talent and no recipe intimidated her. Taking after her mom, Toni was a bookkeeper and medical assistant for many years. She also enjoyed travelling and was responsible for many trips and pilgrimages while working for St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Wasco. Her travels took her to many places in Europe, Mexico, and Canada, as well as numerous places in the U.S. She ended her career at St. John’s as their Bookkeeper and Office Manager before retiring.
