STEVE KEMP COLLIER

We are sad to announce the passing of Steve Kemp Collier on September 20, 2023 at the age of 81 years old. Steve was born July 16, 1942 in Bakersfield, California to Kemp and Dena Collier.  He was the third of five siblings. Upon completing high school he married Sandra Molatore on March 24, 1962.  They were blessed with three sons John, Brian, and Rick.

Steve was part of the Golden Empire Bass Club, along with Native Sons.  His favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, and V.W. Bugs.

He worked most of his life at the Refinery on Rosedale where he retired after 41 years.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Kemp and Dena Collier, his brother Marc Collier, son Brian Collier, sister-in-law Jan Collier, and brother-in-law Henry Daramy.

Steve is survived by his wife Sandra and their family John (Renee) Collier, Rick (Colene) Collier.  8 Grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  Siblings Denny (Angela) Collier, Michael (Sue) Collier, Kimmi Daramy.  Brother-in-law Larry (Tammie) Molatore, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Services will be on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Doughty-Calhoun-O’Meara, 1100 Truxtun Avenue, followed by a reception at the Rice Bowl, 1119 18th Street.
