Bob Lencioni, beloved husband and father, passed peacefully into the arms of God on Thursday, December 15th.
Bob was a native of Bakersfield, California and attended St. Joseph’s Elementary and Garces Junior and Senior High Schools. He later graduated from the University of San Francisco and had a rewarding 35-year teaching and coaching career at Greenfield Junior High School. Bob loved the opportunity to shape the lives of young men and women. He was a devout Catholic and a member and past president of the Italian Catholic Federation. Besides his faith and family, Bob volunteered at St. Philips (Youth Ministry, Grief Counseling, Eucharistic Ministry), Mercy Hospital, and Catholic Charities just to name a few. While many knew him as family, friend, coach, teacher, counselor, Eucharistic Minister, he was best known and recognized as Santa Bob. Santa Bob volunteered and embodied the spirit of Santa Claus for thousands of children and adults for over 30 years.
He was pre-deceased by his loving wife Marie Irene Lencioni, parents Joe and Nellie Lencioni, brothers Oreste and Richard and sister Arlene Linnenbrink. He is survived by brother Jerry and sister Loretta Berry, children Stephen (Cathleen), Michael (Shelean), Raymond (Yolanda) and Thomas, and his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at St Francis Catholic Church at 900 “H” Street at 5:00 pm on Tuesday December 27th, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be the following morning at St Francis at 10:00 am and committal following at Hillcrest Memorial.
