Richard Paul Wilson

Richard Paul Wilson went to be with Jesus on August 23, 2024 after battling cancer. Richard was born in Bakersfield, California on February 8, 1938. 

He graduated from Bakersfield High School, then enlisted in the US Navy and served as a Seaman from 1955-1957. Later, he attended San Jose State University.

Richard was a successful businessman. He owned and operated an independent insurance agency, Wilson Paves & Associates for over 30 years. His great passion was golf. He played regularly up until just a few months prior to his death.

He was a member of the Bakersfield Classic T-Bird Club and enjoyed showing off his beautiful 1956 T-Bird. He was also a diehard Rams fan.

In his golden years, he drew very close to God and wanted to share his faith with others. He wanted his life to be an example to his family and friends.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Mary Wilson, his sisters Carolyn Honeycutt and Sandy Wilson, and his son Mark Wilson. He is survived by his wife Barbara Wilson, his daughter Lisa Hockersmith, his son Mike Wilson (Charissa), his six beloved grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Riverlakes Church, 4301 Calloway Drive, Bakersfield Wed, September 11, 2024 at 11:00 am.
