Phillip John Fernandez
Phillip, lovingly nicknamed “Buzzy” by his Aunty Cassie, was born into the world April 22, 1966, to Esequiel and Charlene Fernandez, in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Bakersfield, CA, where he graduated from Foothill High School. He then attended the University of La Verne. Soon after, he went on to study at California State University Dominguez Hills and earned a bachelor's degree in sociology. He loved playing football and rooting for his favorite team, The Cowboys. He loved to cook and would often feed the homeless and help others in need. “Buzzy” would spend time with his friends djaying, sharing his dream of creating and producing music.He was a genuine friend to all. One of his favorite quotes: “No man is an island who has friends.” He was hired to work at Rio Counseling Center by Able Fernandez, where he helped people work through their traumas.
Phillip is survived by his children Marisa Rose Fernandez and Alyssa Fernandez, his mother, Charlene Fernandez, sister Margarita Medrano, brother Cruz Fernandez and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. He will be greatly missed by ALL.
Visitation will be held at Doughty Calhoun O'Meara Funeral Home 1100 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 3:00-7:00pm.
