Patricia Marie Fachin

Born in Bakersfield to Ray and Julia Fanucchi, attended St Francis elementary, South High School and Bakersfield College.

She was the “Energizer Bunny” of the family. Always full of life and energy and on the move, always doing something. Pat had her dad’s gift for growing things and was very proud of her yard, ornamentals and garden. She and husband John Larry Fachin raised cattle under the Bar F brand on the Fachin family Rafter F Ranch in the Woody area. She helped work cattle, hauled hay, and performed all the day-to-day chores associated with the ranching life. She also served one term as president of the Kern County Cowbelles.

Creative and artistically talented, Pat was an excellent seamstress and embroiderer, carrying on skills taught by her mother. She made countless decorations and centerpieces for special occasions and celebrations over the years, often used when she and Larry opened their home to host weddings or various youth ministry groups from St. Francis Parish. 

Pat was always the first to offer care and assistance to friends and family. Many people have benefitted from her love, thoughtful care, and kindness. She was very fond of children, got a degree in early childhood development and volunteered at Friendship House. Nephew Ryan Fachin’s children had a very special relationship with “Aunt Patty”.

Pat was devoted to her Catholic faith and had a special love for her husband Larry. With the exception of Larry’s hunting, fishing, and camping outings with friends, it seemed wherever you saw Larry, you saw Pat and wherever you saw Pat, you saw Larry.

Pat is predeceased by son Mike, parents Ray and Julia, and in-laws John and Lucille. She is survived by Larry, her husband of 50 years, brothers Carl (Barbara), Larry (Margaret), brothers-in-law Gary (Karen), and Danny and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express its gratitude for the support and encouragement extended to Pat and Larry from Russ Johnson, Jeff Goddard, and Father Mark Maxon. Special friend Gretta Carver and niece Marcie were angels sent to comfort Pat in her last days. To all the caring staff at San Joaquin Hospital and all the friends and family whose love and support have helped us through this difficult time, thank you all.

Services: Friday, July 16, 2021, 9am Rosary followed by funeral Mass at 9:30am.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 12300 Reina Rd., Bakersfield.

Pallbearers are Ryan Barger, Ryan Fachin, Andrew Fanucchi, Dominic Fanucchi, Gary Fanucchi, and Stephen Fanucchi.
