Lucy Mary Pandol

On December 20, 2024, Lucy Mary Tudor Pandol was called from this world to be with the Lord. She was 89. Born on September 22, 1935, to John and Lucy Tudor. Lucy grew up in the Fontana/Rialto area of Southern California. She attended Chaffey High School, graduating in 1953, and then moving on to Chaffey Junior College. She later attended the University of California at Berkley and Los Angeles.

Lucy would spend her summers in the Delano area with her parents to visit her sister Stanka Caric and family. During those years she came to know Matt Pandol who lived near the Caric home. In 1957 Matt and Lucy were wed and began raising a family on the ranch in Delano.

Matt tended to the farm with his father and brothers while Lucy took care of the home and raised 5 children.

While the kids were in school, she played an active role in the school PTA, and eventually was elected as a trustee to the Delano Joint Union High School Board.

Lucy was quite the hostess. She and her husband Matt hosted Thanksgiving, Super Bowls, and countless business lunches, dinners and meetings. Mom was an incredible cook, known internationally for her specialty, baked goat. Her kitchen received the nickname of” LUCY’S CAFE”.

She also enjoyed traveling. She made several trips during her lifetime to Europe, Hawaii, Chile and Argentina with her Parents, husband, friends, and family. In her later years she traveled to industry and political events with her children.

With the passing of Matt Sr., Lucy’s role changed to working in the business along with her kids. She served on the boards of Pandol Bros and Orange Cove Hardware for many years. She was an active participant with her children in several farming ventures including meeting with the kids during this past Thanksgiving week to discuss the current and upcoming activities of the various businesses.

Lucy was a parishioner of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Delano and a member of the American Slavonic Social Club in Delano.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents John and Lucy Tudor, brothers Martin and Andrew Tudor, sister Stanka Caric, husband Matt Pandol Sr. and son Matt Pandol Jr. She is survived by sons Louis Pandol, John Pandol (Angelica), Andrew Pandol (Beth), daughter-in-law Linda Pandol, daughter Margaret Curtis (Scott), sister-in-law Betty Tudor, 8 grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her caregivers and Doctors for the care they provided over the last 3 years.
