On January 12, 2025 Kenneth Paul Altergott was called to be with the Lord. He was 76. Born on January 2, 1949 to Pearl (Safford) Altergott and Fred Altergott in Greely, Colorado. Ken later moved to Bakersfield California where he attended high school at Foothill High. After graduation, he attended Cal State University of Bakersfield. After Graduating college he married Diane (Lencioni) Altergott on June 10, 1972. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Pearl and Fred, and sisters Midge and Anne. He is also survived by his brother Fred and sister Carol.
After marriage to Diane Altergott, Ken started working at Colombo Construction as a carpenter. Ken’s extraordinary attention to detail and ability to visualize entire projects immediately stood out, and through the years he rose through the ranks to become CEO, President, and ultimately Chairman of the Board. Ken’s quiet strength, tireless work ethic, and unwavering commitment to excellence defined his leadership and inspired all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
At home he was a devoted husband to his wife Diane Altergott of 52 years, and he was a loving father to his three children: Midge Lundgren, Ryan Altergott and Shelley Belline. He was poppa to his grandchildren: Faith Lundgren, Autumn Lundgren, Ella Altergott, Barrett Altergott, Frankie Belline III, Colt Belline, and Brooklynne Belline. He led his household with the same quite strength (and sometimes not so quite strength). He was always there to support his family in anyway he could, which often extended out to much more than just his wife, children and grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed trout fishing in Mammoth, Salmon fishing in Oregon, watching the Denver Broncos, reading, and playing golf.
Dad, your genuine personality and ability to express love without saying a word will be remembered and missed.
Funeral Services will be held at Saint Francis Church at 10:00 am and gravesite to follow at 11:30 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
