JUDY THOMAS

Judy Thomas of Bakersfield, went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2023. She was 78 years old.

Judy was born in Matsqui, British Columbia where she grew up. She moved to the US in 1964 to Tacoma, Washington but eventually made her home in Bakersfield where she raised her two sons.

Judy graduated from Bakersfield College in 1976 with a degree in accounting and later real estate in 2003. She was president and a lifelong member of the Bakersfield City Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, a previous member of the Bakersfield Assistance League as well as a current Ombudsman for Long Term Care of Kern County.

She is preceded in death by father Reginald, mother Florence, husband Charles Thomas (1992), brother Richard and husband Olen D. Mabry (2017).

Judy is survived by son Joseph (wife, Jennifer), son Michael (wife, Dawn), 3 grandchildren, Ethan, Taylor and Bella, 2 great grandchildren, Scarlet and Ryder, brother John Durham (wife Gerri), nephew John Jr., niece Sheila and brother Jim Durham (wife LeAnne).

The family wishes to thank the Jaime Banducci family, Dee Venator, Bob and Betty Banducci, Rose Mary Owen, Doug and Barbara Johnston as well as many family members and friends for all of their love and support.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 10 A.M. at Shafter Memorial Cemetery.
