JOHN B. KENDALL, JR.

April 22, 1929 — January 17, 2023

On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, John Kendall loving husband and father of two children passed away at the age of 93 in Bakersfield, California. 

John was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin to John and Jennie Kendall.  He received his electrical engineering degree from Purdue University and worked for Wisconsin Electric Power Company for many years.   On December 25, 1951 he married Patricia Frost. They raised two children David and Sharon.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and children.

John had a passion for stamp collection which he learned from his father.  He enjoyed football and was a loyal hometown boy Green Bay Packers fan.  John adored Schnauzers and had many, all named Fritz.   He enjoyed traveling to many destinations. 

He was an active member and supporter of First United Methodist Church in Bakersfield (FUMC) and helped out in the finance office for many years.  He participated in the FUMC Senior Center and a small group.  He also volunteered at the Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County (ADAKC).   

He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile and kind and helpful spirit. 

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church on February 18th at 11:00 AM with a small reception following.
