James “Jim” Geers
1941-2025
December 17, 1941- February 26, 2025
James Raymond Geers was born to Raymond and Alta Geers. He was born and raised in Bakersfield. Jim left to serve his country in the United States Navy, serving almost 5 years. Jim, a man of few words, was a kind soul to everyone he encountered. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his family. He would go on to marry the love of his life, Jerlene. They would go on to be married for forty-five years before the love of his life would leave this world. Jim continued to honor his marriage and anticipated the day they would be joined together. He was reunited in heaven with his parents, brother Chris, and daughter Kim. Jim provided his children with those same values of dedication, love and kindness. All of the kids knew they hit the lottery with the most amazing father.
His world revolved around his children Ronald, Michele, Rachele, and bonus son Jamie. His grandchildren Brian, Brittanie (Matt), Brett, Clayton, Kaylee, Kyler, David, and Tatum were his world. Jim was blessed to have seven great-grandchildren, Caden, Chloe, Harper, Brian, Tiffany, Arius, and Elias, along with his beloved brother, Thomas “Tommy” Geers.
Jim dedicated his life to working for Getty, Texaco, Chevron, BCSD, and CARQUEST. He worked until he was almost 80 years old to support his family. He appreciated his work family and the friends he made along the way. He dedicated his life to taking care of his disabled daughter Michele.
His work ethic, strength, and patience made him a terrific friend and father! His love for the Rams and ESPN made life simple. Our hearts are broken that the greatest man we’ve ever known has left this world. Until we are reunited again, we will miss you every single day Daddy!
