Gabriel Belluomini was born in Bakersfield California to Italian emigrant parents Peter and Elena Belluomini on January 13, 1940. He left us on February 11th to reunite with his parents as well as his older brother Monsignor Ralph Belluomini and sister Angela Brumley.
Gabe grew up enjoying being with his father and uncle working in one of the family businesses, farms and ranches. During this time, and at an early age, his love and aptitude for working with animals was apparent and would later grow into his life’s calling.
In 1959 he and Jacqueline delRio were married and soon started a family, welcoming sons Peter and Marc followed by daughter Denise.
While continuing to work in a variety of the family businesses, as there were few things he couldn’t build, his connection with animals grew into a hobby which soon became a career. Thirty-two acres out on Muller Rd was purchased in the early 60’s and was given the name PDM Stables. His aptitude for working with horses developed into a talent for training champion show horses and their riders. This part of his adult life spanned over 50 years and established his legacy in the equestrian community- a legacy which continues today with PDM.
He is survived by Jacqueline Belluomini, brother Michael (Christine), sons Peter Belluomini (Lisa), Marc Belluomini (Eric Becker),daughter Denise Foster (Mike). Granddaughters Katie Ottoboni (Lucas), Heather Giragosian(Nick) and Ashley Foster. Great-grandchildren Tyler and Gemma Giragosian , Dustin Thurman.
