FELISMINA SILVEIRA VIEIRA

 Felismina was born October 15, 1929 in the village of Santa Barbara, Pico, Azores, the sixth of seven children, and the last to leave this earth. 

 On December 15th, 1947, Felismina married Frank Vieira. In November of 1959, they moved to the United States. 

 Felismina was proud of her Portuguese heritage, and equally proud of being a naturalized U.S. citizen. 

 She belonged to several Portuguese fraternal societies and was an active member of PFSA, Portuguese Fraternal Society of America.

 Until recent years of failing health, she went to the Ben Austin Senior Center where she met many people, enjoying their lunches together, playing cards, and Mexican Train Dominoes.

 Felismina, or Phyllis, as she was known to many, is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Mike Scales; granddaughter Kristen Scales; niece Filomena Evans, whom she thought of as a daughter, and several nieces and nephews. Also, her fur grandbabies, Maggie and guardian angel, Penny; and fur great-grand “kids”, Clementine and Katee.

 Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday December 20th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Historic Union Cemetery.
