Elizabeth “Betty” Finnegan (Brandiger)

Betty passed away surrounded by loved ones in Atascadero, CA, at 98 yrs old.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 yrs., Terry Finnegan, her two adult sons, Daniel and Stephen, and her four siblings. Betty is survived by her children, Tim, Barbara (Arlen), Kevin (Ann), Teresa (Denny), Trish (Steve), Mary (Rick), Maureen (Tom), Erin (Johnny) and 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Betty was born in Breen and raised in Durango, CO. She moved to Albuquerque where she worked, and volunteered for the American National Nurses Aide Corps.

She was married to Terry there and together they moved to California, eventually settling in Bakersfield. It was here she became a mother to 10 children and kept an open house to many Sunset/Oleander neighborhood kids. She was very active and had many friends in both multiple Christian communities. She always said she enjoyed visiting her siblings in New Mexico. She loved her pets, gardening and sharing her favorite homemade desserts.

 

A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn, NE on Monday, Nov.6, at 1 pm.
