Dorothy was born in Bakersfield, California on the 4th of July 1937 to Rena and Lloyd Andres, both of Native-American decent. She was the second of seven children and is survived by her brother, Ron Andres, daughters, Deanna Walker and Deborah Nacua Nicoara, and sons, Reuben and Fred Alvarez, along with 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. On May 7, 2024, she quietly took the hands of her angel sons, Darryel and Jeffrey Nacua, who led her to the gates of heaven to be with our Almighty Father.
Dorothy attended Bakersfield High School and lived in Bakersfield most of her life working as an agricultural inspector. She was known for her hazel eyes, sweet smile and kind heart. She enjoyed the blessings of life God bestowed on her, the fruits and vegetables from her garden, the color and fragrance of flowers she loved planting and watching grow and the company of her four-legged companions. She was a kind, gentle soul and will be greatly missed, but we are comforted knowing we will be reunited someday soon in Heaven.
