Donald W. Self

Donald W. Self passed away February 21st in Bakersfield at the age of 86. He was born in Santa Barbara, CA, and as a young boy, moved to Bakersfield with his family. He attended local schools, graduating from East Bakersfield High School. He fell in love and married Susan Porter, who preceded him in death in 2012.  Donald worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 30 years of employment. 

Donald is survived by sons, Brian Self and wife, Sharon; Alan Self and wife, Mary; five grandchildren and one great granddaughter. 

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Greenlawn Cemetery Northeast, 3700 River Boulevard.
