Cora Maxine Burleson

May 22, 1938 — February 17, 2021

Cora “Maxine” Burleson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great -grandmother, passed away on Wednesday February 17, 2021. She will be remembered as a very loving and genuine lady who always made you feel welcome and loved. She was known as “The Neighborhood Mom “among her kids’ friends while growing up. She loved gardening and especially spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She loved sharing time with the family either at large family functions or just at the kitchen table, with coffee or a diet Pepsi.

 

Maxine was born in Oil City, Oklahoma to Dubs and Q.B Puckett. She was the fourth of nine children. She moved to Bakersfield, California in the early 1940’s where she met and married Benjamin Rocha. They were blessed with two children, Benny and Julie. Maxine was preceded in death by husbands Benjamin Rocha and Bob Burleson. Maxine is survived by Benny Rocha and wife (Janice), Julie Terry and husband (Richard). Grandsons Jeffrey, Jarrett and his wife (LeAnn), great-grandsons Richie and Gunner. Grandson Joshua and his wife Anna, great-grandson Gehrig. Granddaughter Amanda and husband (Shawn), great-granddaughters Haylee, Lucy, and Zoey.
