Betty Dorene Wills

Betty Dorene Toschi Wills was born on April 7, 1934, in Bakersfield, California. She graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1951 and started her long employment for Kern County in 1952. She retired from working for Kern County Probation on September 27, 1996. 

She was a very beautiful woman of both Italian and French heritage. Her beauty was reflected with a smile and a lot of kindness towards many.

She married Norman Wills in March of 1998. They had been good friends and co-workers for Kern County Probation. Betty was a close friend of our family. We spent many hot days in her backyard, swimming. She was part of many family celebrations, including birthdays, graduations and weddings. We had many family dinners with her, her mother Jan and friends at the Wool Growers. She was always recognized and adored by those she knew. 

Betty had a very caring and generous spirit. She loved all her pets over the years. When she and our dad married, she adopted Bonnie as her best friend. A black cocker spaniel that came with the marriage. 

Betty had many friends from East High School and work. Lifelong friends. Betty was a friend for life. Betty was a dedicated and loving daughter to Jan. 

She is survived by her two stepdaughters and their husbands, Sharon (Wills) and Bob Wasden. Their daughter Anna (Brandon) Hunsaker. Lee Ann (Wills) and Rich Hansen; daughter Ava Hansen. 

We want to thank Nickey Sloas and Vickey Terry for many years of dedicated care and service to Betty. Their care made it possible for Betty to stay in her home. That was her wish. We also thank the caretakers of Bristol Hospice.
